What I Would Have Told Myself Before My First Year Of RSM

Be yourself.

Accept the process. Don’t fight it.

Do not pursue a spot on chosen.

Do not be scared of leadership.

Treat every morning prayer like it is your first and last morning prayer.

Do not act like you have it all together.

Swallow your pride and ask for help.

Do not try to impress anyone.. It does not work.

Be a sponge. You only have nine months.

Only pray out loud for a God who is listening, not for your classmates to hear.

Do not eat breakfast after 8a.m. Just don’t!

Go to bed before 11p.m.

Serve! Serve! Serve!

Enjoy studying. You’re not in high school anymore.

Do not allow yourself to get in the “funk.”

Never go one day without encountering Jesus.

Do not do it for the certificate. Do it for the journey.

Give others what you are desperately in need of.

Always pray, “God, cut on me; don’t cut me off.”

Be like Paul. Desire to know Jesus and experience the mighty power that raised him from the dead!

  1. I see that RSM has been mentioned in your blogs, could you state what it is. I have never heard of it and would like to know more about it.
